More colors coming up!

I made more pin cushions yay!
Some of them have already found a new home and some are ready to go to MOCFA in San Francisco.

In August, I will be leading the Craft Bar with Etsy Labs at MOCFA.
I was asked to teach how to make these flower-shaped pin cushions, so I am working on step-by-step instructions.
Britex Fabrics in SF is generously donating the materials for this project!
바늘방석을 많이 만들었어요.
8월에 샌프란시스코 다운타운에 있는 MOCFA (크래프트와 포크아트 뮤지엄)에서 이 꽃모양 바늘방석 만들기를 가르쳐드립니다!
그 유명한 Britex Fabric 에서 재료를 기부한다고 하니 어떤 옷감을 쓸 수 있을지 기대가 되네요.

These small mochi and cupcake pin cushions are disappearing so quickly!
Ha ha, actually I gave these away as thank you gifts and people buy them to do the same.
I better bring some to MOCFA before they all disappear.
모찌와 컵케익 바늘방석들은 금방 제 눈에서 사라져 버립니다.
주로 감사인사를 하는 작은 선물로 제가 쓰거나 같은 목적으로 사람들이 제게서 사가는거지요 ㅎㅎ
여느때와 같이 금방 없어지기 전에 뮤지엄에 가져다 놓을게요.

Demonstration in May

I was invited to a social gathering to introduce Korean traditional art.
Jenn made me a fancy slide show using Power Point.
Lucky to have a tech savvy and artistic daughter!
지난달 어느 모임에 한국전통예술을 알리러 갔습니다.
딸아이가 멋진 파워포인트 슬라이드 쇼를 만들어 줘서 같이 틀어놨었지요.
제가 봐도 감탄하게 만들어 줘서 분위기를 팍팍 살렸지요!

This is a table that I was sitting and demonstrate simple techniques.
이 테이블에서 간단한 기법을 보여주고 실습도 해볼 수 있게 해드렸지요.

The other spaces were decorated with bojagi, fabric, sewing tools.
멋진 이 댁 곳곳에 보자기, 옷감, 바느질 도구들로 장식을 해 놨구요.

I couldn't take many pictures but had a wonderful time showing Korean art to the people from around the world.
하도 바빠서 사진을 찍을 여유도 없었답니다.
세계 각국에서온 외교관부인들께 한국문화를 알린 보람있는 하루였지요.

Just finished

I just finished a big project.
Made this using my abstract bojagi colors so it doesn't look new at all :)
My next work to do- find a place to frame this 45"x45" bojagi.
새로운 보자기를 완성했어요. 늘쓰는 색을 써서 그런지 낯설진 않지만 새롭지도 않은듯....
가로 세로 45인치인 큰보자기를 액자에 넣으려니 조금 막막합니다.

I used white transluscent silk(Nobang) for back this time.
뒷감은 비치는 노방을 썼구요,

I am still working on my signature embroidery.....
이름을 수놓는건 아직도 더 연습해야할 과제 같네요.....
